Injured Anteater

Today as we traveled along our favorite stretch of road between home and Boquete, we stopped abruptly when we notice an anteater attempting to cross the road. He/she was obviously suffering from a painful front paw. we Got out of the car and of course it turned to escape back into the safety of the undergrowth. We managed to take some photos. Michael took the better ones and these I have posted today. We hope the anteater will not attempt to cross the road again and will recover in the secluded river bank area.
