We know how to tackle the climate crisis.
The technologies, the policies, the lifestyle changes - most are already being implemented somewhere on our planet. All that we lack is the political will, so that they might be implemented everywhere, and much more rapidly.
I say this with some confidence, having just spent two years researching and writing The Climate Challenge: 101 Solutions to Global Warming, which will be in bookshops by mid to late November. (New Society Publishers)

The Jesusita Fire in Santa Barbara , CA this year caused these two to take shelter together. The fawn is about 3 days old and the bobcat about 3 weeks. They immediately bonded and snuggled together under a desk in the Santa Barbara County Dispatch Office for several hours.
Animal Planet is reporting the bobcat kitten was rescued near Arnold Schwarzenegger's ranch, where it was dehydrated and near death.
They rescued the fawn during the wildfire. Although wild animals, especially of separate sp…

If you are a wildlife lover like us, Panama is a fantastic place to live or visit. Everyday presents so many photographic opportunities. We live in the province of Chiriqui, which is the area on the southern Pacific Ocean side of the Continental Divide. There is a wonderful drive over to the otherside, bringing you upon the coast Caribbean Sea and the myriad of islands at the world famous Bocas del Toro. Chiriqui also borders Costa Rica, so as you can see there is so much to do and see here, if…

Today as we traveled along our favorite stretch of road between home and Boquete, we stopped abruptly when we notice an anteater attempting to cross the road. He/she was obviously suffering from a painful front paw. we Got out of the car and of course it turned to escape back into the safety of the undergrowth. We managed to take some photos. Michael took the better ones and these I have posted today. We hope the anteater will not attempt to cross the road again and will recover in the secluded…

Leafcutter ants are social insects found in warmer regions of the Americas. These unique ants have evolved an advanced agricultural system based on ant-fungus mutualism. They feed on special structures called gongylidia produced by a specialized fungus that grows only in the underground chambers of the ants' nest.
Different species of leafcutter ants use different species of fungus, but all of the fungi the ants use are members of the Lepiotaceae family. The ants actively cultivate their fungus,…
